Likewise, actually.

If I had a blender, I'd make Mss Drizzt's shake.

The latest type of ice cream which I have found quite delicious is a Brownies and Fudge flavored one, which is supposed to taste like a Pillsbery Doughboy flavor (I'm obviously blanking on its name right now). If you look for it in stores, just look for that little fat dough boy and you'll see what I mean.

Also, if anybody happens to live in or near Verona or Madison, Wisconsin, I would recommend checking out Michael's Frozen Custard. They have a lot of varietys of pints stored in their freezers, and they almost always have something good for their Flavors of the Day. I would confidently say that, aside from Cold Stone, they have the best ice cream/custard that I have ever had.

I now have an image of an ice cream filled with little bits of Doughboy in it. "Who wants an eye?"

Also reminded of that classic Photoshopping.

Oh wow, what can I say about that picture...

Morbid? But extremely funny. I'm surprised I haven't seen that picture before. After a rough night and having to clean up my friend's puke this morning, that just brightened my day.

So we've had some good responses about your favorite brands of ice cream, but I think that it's time that we shift focuses to another subject...

What is the best Italian restaurant, either local or franchised, that you have ever eaten at? Your choice for this is not just limited to the quality of the food they have, though that obviously does make a big difference as to how much you like the place. The choice can also be based on the atmosphere of the restaurant, seeing as how, if they're true to their Italian heritage, they should be extremely entertaining to dine at.

My vote would confidently go to Buca di Beppo's; if you've ever been there, then no explanation is needed.

For the unfortunate few of you who have not, 1) the food is amazing, 2) the service is excellent and the waiters are friendly ("Who here's a Buca virgin?"), and 3) there are always at least 3 large families of extremely loud and friendly Italian people who hang around for three or four hours just to talk during their meal.

I...can't say I've ever heard of the place.

Is it a northern chain?

Oh man, Ross, I have never agreed more with you. There is no Italian restaurant with better food than Buca di Beppo's. (There's one in Minneapolis that I've been to and also one in Milwaukee; not positive about other locations).

When you're there you get these delicious "appetizers" that seriously half my party thought was the whole meal. Then the main course comes out and at that point you're half wetting yourself in ecstasy and half keeling over because the very sight of more food makes your stomach feel like it's being tossed around like a banana in a smoothie.

Of course, you're not done yet. Next comes the desert. All I remember about it was that it was godly in deliciousness. (That's half because I was already in a food coma and half because apparently they put some type of alcohol in it to "calm the intestines" if ya know what I mean )

All in all, dining at Buca di Beppo's is nirvana in spaghetti. Anyone who hasn't been there: just go, it's worth it PERIOD.

P.S. You guys gotta listen to Ross on this one, I think his mom's maiden name is Giovannifantini or something along the lines of that.

edit: P.P.S. That doughboy picture makes me think of what my gauss rifle victims are going to look like...

I've been to the restaurants they have in South Beach, Minneapolis (the first Buca's to open), Indianapolis, and Milwaukee, so it's not just a northern chain. Check out the map they have of their locations, and if there's one near you, I would strongly suggest heading there this weekend for some good real Italian food. Here's a little suggestion though; don't go with only one other person. I'd say the minimum group would be 8 people, since you order giant platters of food rather than individual dishes, which helps to reinforce the sharing Italian atmosphere.

I'll have to do dinner there sometime.

Ciao Bella Gelato (and sorbet) is very good. 3 years ago a local grocery bulk-outlet sold a huge shipment of their products for dirt cheap; I had a second freezer packed all summer!
